My first goat Victoria
When I first set my sights on Victoria, I knew God made a connection between us. At the Portage Fair, our bond deepened as I showed her for the first time. This bond was unbreakable I thought, but her owner wasn’t ready to give her up because Victoria belonged to her son. After all of the help I offered the owner at the Portage Fair, she told me I could have one of the goats, but not Victoria. I felt crushed and defeated by this news because I knew God created us for each other. For my 16th Birthday, the owner offered me a goat, and I still had my sights set on Victoria. I prayed before bed and had lots of faith, even in this hard situation. The owner prayed and talked to her son about giving Victoria up to me. After praying and having faith, the owner told me I could have Victoria. I jumped for joy and was so happy, yet the only way I could keep her was that I had to get a job. My dad told my mom that I needed to get a job to pay for her. He wanted me to learn the responsibility of caring for her and paying for her. I was willing to get a job to pay for Victoria. Having faith in God has taught me many things; the most important one was when life seems impossible God makes a way.
How I got Piper
One day I decided to help trim some of their goats hooves for them, so I took out this one goat. She had a purple collar and was scared of objects that moved. She was very curious and very smart too. When I looked at her my heart got the feeling I got for Victoria from God. I knew this goat couldn't reproduce and that she was going to meat. Piper was the goat and I started to work with her lots. Then I prayed to God for her not to be taken to slaughter and I asked the owners lots. I was willing to do whatever it took for me to have this goat. I even made a presentation to my parents about how much I wanted her. God worked through the owners hearts and they finally said she could stay! It was literally the most happiest moment of my life. One night at our goat meeting the owner gave me Piper's papers and I was shocked cause I thought it was a goat I would just work with not my own personal goat. It was the best day of my life and the goat was officially mine! Piper now is my pet goat that I love dearly. I am training her to do tricks and so much more. She is truly a blessing in my life.
